MAKING IT
Bobby Bitton
Actor & Movie Enthusiast

Growing up in Los Angeles, it was inevitable that Bobby would be influenced by the entertainment industry in some way. His hobbies and interests consisted of many things, one of which being movies, particularly the Star Wars series.
What Bobby loved about movies was the way that the actors could be “anything they wanted to be.” When watching films, Bobby found himself wanting to do all the things the actors were doing – if they were in the chef, Bobby had a sudden desire to try cooking, if they were an astronaut, Bobby would develop an interest in astrology. Over time, with some many interests, passions and ideas his mom sat him down once and said, “Why don’t you become an actor? If you’re an actor you don’t have to choose to be just one thing.” This advice stuck with Bobby and since that day, he has continued on the road to the pursuit of becoming an actor.
“As a creative mind… we can’t be caged… we really wouldn’t thrive there” – Bobby Bitton, Interview
Sitting down with Bobby I learned many things about the culture of the industry, and the role the city of Los Angeles plays in that. He explained that ever since he began taking acting classes and going to auditions, a large community of fellow actors has opened up in which he has had the opportunity to collaborate with on artistic projects. He explains how although the pressure and competitiveness of the industry is inevitable, his pure passion for this artistic pursuit and need to exercise his creative mind outweighs the “rejection” and “instability.” Similar to Natalie, the energy in the room was there as soon as the first question regarding the subject was addressed. In the midst of his discussion on the challenges he’s faced, (such as, a lack of being born with talent and rejection at numerous auditions) it was inevitable to notice that there was a consistent positive spirit about his demeanor through it all. A contagious spirit that would have someone ready to go make a home movie in their backyard. Bobby made evident the fact that no matter what direction his life went, he knew that he was determined to live out this pursuit, in any fashion or way that be possible.
